Things we now know...

1.Training your daughters to train the dog is harder than the dog itself.
2. Don't start smiling about the sleep you got on night #1, until night #2 is under your belt.
3. It is funnier when a dog "twoseys" on your in-laws carpet than your own. He had some fiber in that one! Yikes.
4. It might be true that most Dog lovers are two monkeys shy of a barrel. To say that the daily walks with the pup are interesting, is a great understatement. You would think I was walking around with a sign on my back that reads "if you have got a really really long and detailed story about when the great niece of your half cousin Cooter took the dog huntin' in the lower stretches of the south Kentucky swamplands...then please stop me and tell me every last bit." I'm one more walk short of a story coma. (Grant me patience, Lord. PATIENCE.) This blog doesn't make me one of them, does it?

The boy has arrived!

Oh, we are in LOVE!  Dawber Doodle Cutie Pie Cato has landed in the Duv and is doing great!  Why a five word name you might ask? - well, everyone got to pick a middle name so Doodle is from our oldest daughter and our 5 year old picked Cutie pie.   We are happy to report 2 pees and one poop have also landed - 1 out of 3 in the cedar chip potty area that we have set up in our backyard.  TMI?  Naaaah!Everyone does it!

TBYBDD

"The Backyard Before Dawber Doodle" - I think we will accept bets on whether our yard can stay like this. Mommy Dawber (my wife) is sure of it. I am mostly sure of it. Worst case, DD chases out our baby frog population and elimates the near genecide that comes with the weekly lawn mowing AND we have a little more yellow tinge mixed in. What about "digging" you say...not a chance.

It's "DD" Day

The big day is here. We get him at 1. Not sure who we had more "supplies in waiting" for...the kids or the dog?!!?
Mom is still freakin' out, so we wrote the house rules and our top 5 obedience commands this morning in order to put her mind at rest. I expect that DD will pass out from mental fatigue about 2 minutes in the door... maybe 3. List of visitors today: The Madigans, The Grandparents, The Rich's, and .... the Colonel "with his wee beady eyes".

1 More Day

Wednesday is the big day! The family's thoughts so far as we wait to pick Dawber up ...

- McKenna : "Mom, I will pay you back for him with my own allowance." ( Dad seriously doubts it)
- Sydney : "I don't want to name him Dawber, Coco is better."
- Mom: This is just like preparing for another child, minus the heartburn (burp!!)
- Dad: Excited! Wondering how succesful we will be at keeping our beautiful back yard in top shape. (I think we will chronicle this on the blog). Dad has already built the "potty" area.
